Η προσωποποίηση του αυθεντικού blues. Από τους καλλιτέχνες που αποτέλεσαν επιρροή των μεγαλύτερων blues επιρροών του αιώνα, όπως ο Muddy Waters και o Robert Johnson.
Ο Eddie James ”Son House” Jr γεννήθηκε στις 21 Μαρτίου του 1902 και σύντομα ξεχώρισε τόσο για τις φωνητικές όσο και για τις κιθαριστικές ικανότητές του. Πρωτοπόρος και ιδιαίτερα δημιουργικός προσέφερε στην μουσική καινοτόμα για την εποχή του στοιχεία και κατατάσσεται στην σχολή του Delta blues.
Αποτέλεσε όπως αναφέρθηκε και παραπάνω εμβληματική μουσική μορφή και για τις νεότερες γενιές, κάτι που αποδεικνύεται και από την επιλογή του Jack White και των White Stripes να αφιερώσουν το πρώτο και ομώνυμο άλμπουμ τους (1999) στον House.
Αφορμή για το σημερινό άρθρο ο θάνατός του σαν σήμερα πριν 26 χρόνια.
